1 American Warrior Inc. has staked its #2 Randall in Comanche County, Kan., offsetting two indicated discoveries. The Garden City-based operator selected a location in Section 26-31s-20w for its 6,400-ft. Cambro-Ordovician Arbuckle test, a half-mile east of its #1-27 Randall in Section 27. That well is working on completion, reports IHS Energy Group. The company has also drilled the #1 Judith in Section 26, and is production-testing that well in a Mississippian zone. Since late 1998, American Warrior has drilled more than 40 tests in Comanche County, of which at least 26 have been completed as oil or gas wells. Five have been dry, and details have not been released on the remaining holes. 2 Oklahoma City independent Meade Energy hopes to extend the Lower Mississippian Jackfork play to the east. The firm has permitted a 12,000-ft. wildcat in western LeFlore County, Okla. The #1-1 Stottsberry, Section 1-3n-21e, is seven miles east of Potato Hills Field. It also lies 2.75 miles southeast of Talihina Northwest, a one-well field that produced minor amounts of gas from the Jackfork prior to being abandoned. Meanwhile, The GHK Co. LLC, also based in Oklahoma City, has permitted the #1-10 Karr in Section 10-2n-19e, Pushmataha County, about 1.25 miles southeast of Potato Hills Field. This directional test, projected to a measured depth of 6,700 ft., is the southernmost exploratory test in the operator's Jackfork efforts in the area. 3 Southwestern Energy Co. , Houston, reports its drilling program in the Haileyville Prospect area in Pittsburg County, Okla., has been successful. Southwestern is a working-interest-owner in the project, located in 4n-16e and operated by Tulsa-based Oxley Petroleum Co. The latest three wells, the #2-12 Briggs, the #1-13 Collings, and the #1 Agnes, are currently producing at a combined gross rate of 29 million cu. ft. per day from Pennsylvanian Middle Atoka Sands at approximately 8,500 ft. 4 Gas flowed at the rate of 6.34 million cu. ft. per day from an Apache Corp. well in western Oklahoma's Beckham County. The #4-25 Perryman, Section 25-12n-22w, was completed from five intervals of the Pennsylvanian Red Fork "B" between 13,770-14,023 ft. and the Clinton lake sand at 15,170-74 ft., says IHS Energy Group. The development well was drilled by the Houston-based independent in Carpenter Field. In separate activity in Roger Mills County, a Dempsey Field development well flowed 5.91 million cu. ft. of gas, plus 10 bbl. of water per day. Kaiser-Francis Oil Co. , Tulsa, tested Upper Morrow between 17,808-17,892 ft. at the #2-25 Ina, drilled in Section 25-12n-25w. 5 Marathon Oil Co. , Houston, has completed a deep Lower Pennsylvanian Springer discovery in Washita County, Okla. The #1-35 Verna, Section 35-9n-20w, flowed 4.81 million cu. ft. of gas, 10 bbl. of condensate and four bbl. of water per day from 17,236-56 ft. The well is a mile north of Sentinel West Field, productive from Granite Wash at depths between 8,600 and 9,200 ft. 6 The first deeper-pool test in an area of Oklahoma's Chickasha Field has been completed as a high-volume Springer discovery, reports IHS Energy Group. Chesapeake Operating Inc. 's #2-23 Berry, Section 23-5n-8w, Grady County, flowed gas at the rate of 7.31 million cu. ft. per day. The well was perforated between 14,447-15,802 ft. The 15,845-ft. well was drilled in a portion of the field that produces from formations shallower than 9,750 ft. 7 Mack Energy Co. , Duncan, flowed 144 bbl. of oil and 820,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from its #1 McMillan. The eastern Love County, Okla., well was drilled on the Criner Hills Uplift. Production from the 11,477-ft. well was gauged from seven intervals in the Ordovician Viola between 7,390-7,970 ft. and three intervals in the Oil Creek between 11,213-11,300 ft. 8 Oil was recovered on a drillstem test at a wildcat in the Oklahoma portion of the Hardeman Basin by a San Diego operator. Royale Energy Inc. recovered 3,500 ft. of 47-degree-gravity oil and 4,200 ft. of oil and gas-cut mud during a drillstem test of the #2 Hooper 35-2, Section 35-1s-24w, Jackson County. The 8,571-ft. well targeted a Mississippian carbonate mound identified from 3-D seismic data. The discovery is about a mile north of an unnamed field that is productive from Lower Mississippian. 9 Across the state line in Texas' Hardeman County, Belco Energy Corp. , New York, has added another location to a growing program. The company has staked a test near Medicine Mounds Southeast Field. The #1 McClellan will be drilled in Section 1, EL&RR Survey, A-532. The new location joins Belco's #1 McNeese and #1 Young, other 9,000-ft. wildcats in the areas of Quimby and Walser fields, respectively. The former is in Section 106, Block 16, H&TC Survey, A-942, and the latter is in Section 104, Block 16, H&TC Survey, A-1547. Production in the area is mainly from Mississippian Chappel at about 8,100 ft. 10 A Lipscomb County, Texas, stepout flowed gas at the rate of 4.11 million cu. ft. per day. The #2-254 Gray, Section 254, Block 43, H&TC Survey, A-1259, was drilled by Strat Land Exploration Co. of Tulsa. The operator tested fracture-stimulated perforations in the Lower Morrow between 11,192-242 ft. in the 11,380-ft. test, drilled a half-mile south of Trosper Field. 11 Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP , Houston, will expand its carbon dioxide project in Sacroc Field, Scurry County, Texas. During the next few years, the project is expected to increase oil production to more than 11,000 bbl. per day from the present level of 9,000 bbl. per day. The company will spend $25 million on the project, ramping up CO2 deliveries to Sacroc to 125 million cu. ft. per day. It says the project will add ultimate reserves of 8 million bbl. of oil. 12 CrownQuest Operating LLC , Midland, flowed 298 bbl. of oil, 160,000 cu. ft. of gas and four bbl. of water per day from a wildcat in central Crane County, Texas. The 7,762-ft. #1 Crump "48" was tested through acidized perforations between 6,956-7,020 ft. The well, in Section 48, Block 32, PSL Survey, A-831, is in an area of shallow San Andres production on the northeast flank of Lea Field.
