1 Jason Oil Co. , Russell, Kan., is drilling a Pennsylvanian Lansing-Kansas City wildcat at the #1 Walters in Cheyenne County, Kan., reports IHS Energy Group. The venture has a projected depth of 5,100 ft. in Pennsylvanian Marmaton. It's located in Section 4-3s-41w, nearly a mile northwest of Lansing-Kansas City production in Cherry Creek Field. 2 Greeley County, Kan., is slated to get a deeper-pool wildcat, scheduled to be drilled by Bluegrass Energy Inc. , Tulsa, at the #2-27 Drake in Section 27-20s-40w. Target depth is 5,500 ft. at the venture. Pennsylvanian Morrow is its primary objective. The new location is in an area of wells that produce from Permian at about 2,800 ft. in the greater Bradshaw Gas Area. There are no Morrow producers within 12 miles of the #2-27 Drake. 3 A remote wildcat staked by Hanna Oil & Gas Co. in Arkansas is to be drilled to 7,500 ft. to evaluate zones through Pennsylvanian Atoka, according to IHS Energy Group. The new venture is the #1 Toad Suck in Faulkner County, near its juncture with Perry and Conway counties. The drillsite is in Section 7-5n-14w. The closest previous production is 15 miles to the northeast at the abandoned one-well Greenbrier Field, while the abandoned Old Hickory Field in Conway County lies 22 miles northwest of Fort Smith-based Hanna's project. 4 A Pennsylvanian Red Fork discovery made by El Paso Production Co. , Houston, in Roger Mills County, Okla., was completed flowing 4.68 million cu. ft. of gas, 127 bbl. of condensate and 2 bbl. of water per day. The #2-1 Broadbent, Section 2-16n-21w, was tested on a 17/64-in. choke through perforations at 10,878-94 ft. Half a mile southwest, El Paso drilled to 11,260 ft., set pipe at 11,062 ft. and production tested Red Fork at its #10-1 Penry, Section 10-16n-21w, apparently confirming the discovery. 5 Two high-volume oil producers have been completed by EOG Resources Inc. , Houston, in Section 17-2n-16ecm, Texas County, Okla., extending to the south its Pennsylvanian Cherokee pool in the Guymon South Field area. EOG recorded a flow gauge of 395 bbl. of oil and 400,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 20/64-in. choke through perforations at 5,850-66 ft. in Cherokee at the 17#5 Hitch Enterprises. A quarter of a mile to the west, the 17#4 well on the same lease flowed 224 bbl. of oil, 660,000 cu. ft. of gas and 13 bbl. of water per day on a 42/64-in. choke through perforations at 5,872-80 ft. 6 Gulf Production Corp. , Oklahoma City, tapped Mississippian Stanley for a flow of 1.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 12 bbl. of oil per day on a 16/64-in. choke at completion of the #10-23 Wyrick, an outpost to a Stanley pool in Oklahoma's Daisy West Field. According to IHS Energy Group, Gulf perforated at 7,974-82 ft., 8,010-18 ft. and 8,070-78 ft. at the extension, located three-quarters of a mile northwest of the northeasternmost Stanley producer in the field. The #10-23 Wyrick is in Section 23-1n-14e, Atoka County. 7 An ultradeep wildcat, one with a projected depth of 28,500 ft., is planned by Oklahoma City independent Twister Exploration LLC for the Potato Hills region of Pushmataha County, Okla. Twister plans to evaluate several overthrusted and subthrusted formations at the #1 Mays, located in Section 10-2n-20e. The deepest estimated top reported is that of First Repeated Big Fork, expected at 17,500 ft. Meanwhile, The GHK Co. LLC , Oklahoma City, continues to be active in the Potato Hills Field area. Nearly three miles west and slightly south of Twister's new location, GHK is drilling below 15,215 ft. at the deepest of its tests in the region-the 21,000-ft. wildcat #1-7 Four Star in Section 7-2n-20e. 8 N-Vision Technology Inc. , Houston, has announced that its oil and gas subsidiary, N-Vision Energy , will participate in at least four tests to be drilled in the East Golden Trend area of southcentral Oklahoma. N-Vision notes it will have a 25% interest in the ventures, which will be operated by Young Resources Inc. , Fort Worth. They are designed to test multiple objectives within Ordovician Simpson Group sands between 6,000 ft. and 8,000 ft. The project area lies east of Golden Trend Field and northeast of Sho-Vel-Tum Field. This drilling program is part of a larger development program that N-Vision has undertaken. The program consists of using 3-D seismic imaging to identify bypassed oil and gas reserves. Plans call for N-Vision to acquire at least one 70-square-mile 3-D seismic survey this year in order to identify additional development drilling locations in this trend. 9 An EOG Resources Inc. -operated extension well in Texas' Hemphill County has been finaled flowing 510 bbl. of oil, 2.12 million cu. ft. of gas and 37 bbl. of water per day on a 24/64-in. choke. Pennsylvanian Tonkawa, perforated at 7,656-84 ft. and 7,730-38 ft., is the producing formation at the #2 Lockhart 58, located half a mile east of Sparks Field. IHS Energy Group notes the well is in Section 58, Block 42,H&TC Survey, A-1235. 10 The discovery of Fuller Field in Wheeler County, Texas, completed in 1981, was confirmed by Austin independent Brigham Oil & Gas LP. The #1-97 Mills Ranch flowed 8.86 million cu. ft. of gas, 53 bbl. of condensate and 53 bbl. of water per day at completion. The new well, in Section 97, Block 13, H&GN Survey, A-74, is a directional redrill of a 22,588-ft. dry hole completed in 1983. Brigham kicked off at 15,000 ft. and drilled northwestward about half a mile. The well was tested on an 18/64-in. choke through perforations at 22,650-94 ft., 22,735-23,142 ft. and 23,912-24,960 ft. in Siluro-Devonian Hunton. At its bottomhole location, the new producer is almost a mile northwest of the field opener that initially flowed 18.5 million cu. ft. of gas per day from Hunton. 11 Blue Star Operating Co. , Midland, is active at two exploratory tests in Section 11, Block B12, PSL Survey, A-1705, Winkler County, Texas. The company is drilling toward a projected depth of 12,500 ft. at the #2 Morton "11," a deeper-pool test in Halley Field.
