1 A 3,980-ft. test planned by RL Investment LLC will evaluate members of the Lansing-Kansas City group. The #1 Minium, Section 13-8s-25w, Graham County, Kan., is half a mile east of Morland. The Morland, Kan., operator will drill the test 1.5 miles northwest of the nearest production, at the one-well Morland Field, according to IHS Energy. In the same field is #1 Keith, Section 19-8s-24w, that has an initial pumping potential of 122 bbl. of oil per day through perforations from 3,893 to 3,913 ft. in the Lansing-Kansas City. The #1 Keith has produced 57,000 bbl. of oil and has averaged two to three bbl. per day since 2001.



2 Vincent Oil Corp., Wichita, Kan., will drill a Pratt Anticline wildcat, #1-20 Kenworthy, Section 20-29s-15w, southwestern Pratt County, Kan., to 5,000 ft. about nine miles southeast of the town of Haviland. The well will evaluate formations through the Arbuckle. The nearest producer is the 5,000-ft. Croft Townsite Field opener 0.75-mile south. The #1-29 Hirt Farms, Section 29-29s-15w, had produced 2,700 bbl. of oil through the end of 2005.



3 An Arkansas discovery was completed by Seeco Inc., a unit of Southwestern Energy, Houston, in the Fayetteville shale. The #1-3 Parks, Section 3-10n-20w, is nine miles north of the northwestern Dover, Ark. The 5,500-ft. well produced gas at an estimated initial rate of 452,000 cu. ft. per day. No additional information has been released. The western Pope County discovery is four miles off the northern flank of Dover Field. The nearest well is #12-23 Silex, Section 23-10n-21w, which is more than six miles southwest. That well was completed in 2001 flowing gas at the rate of 1.53 million cu. ft. per day.



4 Chesapeake Operating Inc., Oklahoma City, completed a remote wildcat in the Mississippian Batesville sand. The #1-10 Birdwell, Section 10-6n-6w, White County, Ark., is six miles southeast of Searcy. The 7,613-ft. well was tested from 7,548-58 and 7,590-96 ft. It was permitted as a 6,500-ft. Fayetteville test, with projected total depth later amended to 8,000 ft. The nearest producer is 15 miles northwest, at Fayetteville wells in Chesapeake's Little Creek Field.



5 A deep wildcat will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating Inc. in Caddo County, Okla. The #1-21 Dodge-BIA, Section 21-6n-11w, will be 5.5 miles north of Apache. The 21,500-ft. well will test numerous Pennsylvanian formations including the Atoka, estimated at 12,010 ft., Morrow at 17,880 ft. and Springer below about 18,140 ft. The #1 Whitehorse-BIA is the closest well, and is in Section 27-6n-11w. That 19,580-ft. well, 1.75 miles northwest, recovered gas from a number of Springer zones. The Boatwright, from 19,362 to 19,442 ft., was tested for 3.2 million cu. ft. of gas with 24 bbl. of water per day.



6 Newfield Exploration Mid-Continent Inc., Houston, has completed a horizontal discovery in southeastern Oklahoma. The #1H-28 Wilson, Section 28-2n-11e, eastern Coal County, Okla., is seven miles southwest of Wardville. The 12,364-ft. well was tested on a 64/64-in. choke flowing 1.1 million cu. ft. of gas and eight bbl. of water daily through perforations from 10,968 to 11,434 and 11,634 to 12,100 ft. The nearest well is #1-17 Sprague in Section 17-2n-11e. The 11,800-ft. well flowed 644,000 cu. ft. of gas and 57 bbl. of water per day on completion in fractured and acidized intervals of the Cromwell from 10,250 to 10,372 ft. and Woodford from 11,200 to 11,370 ft.



7 A wildcat was completed in southern Roosevelt County, N.M., by Mulloy Operating Inc., Midland, Texas. The #1 UEI RC, Section 24-6s-34e, flowed at the daily rate of 130 bbl. of oil with 80,000 cu. ft. of gas. The 4,358-ft. well is 10 miles south-southwest of Dora, N.M. The well was tested through perforations in the San Andres from 4,176 to 4,230 ft. The nearest producer is #1 State 17, Section 17-6s-34e, about four miles west-northwest in Peterson South Field. The 8,232-ft. well pumped oil from perforations from 7,610 to 7,714 ft. The well produced 7,578 bbl. of oil, 3.53 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 13,841 bbl. of water until 1985.



8 Kaiser-Francis Oil Co., Tulsa, Okla., completed a Bone Spring discovery in Eddy County, N.M. The #2 Mesa 11 Grande, Section 11-22s-26e, is in the Carlsbad South Field area, immediately west of the Carlsbad city limits. The 11,500-ft. well was tested flowing 127 bbl. of 43.4-degree-gravity oil, 385,000 cu. ft. of gas and one bbl. of water per day through acid- and frac-treated perforations from 6,321-92 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 1,775 psi on a 10/64-in. choke, according to IHS Energy. The nearest producer is a quarter-mile east-northeast at #1 Mesa Grande in the same section in Carlsbad South Field. The 11,550-ft. well was brought online in 1976, flowing from perforations from 11,107 to 11,246 ft.



9 A remote venture will be drilled by Sofamco Inc., Richardson, Texas, in Randall County, Texas (RRC 10). The 4,500-ft. well will be two miles west of Amarillo. Objectives of #1 Menke, Section 96, Block 9, BS&F Survey, A-1207, were not disclosed, but include Permian formations. This will be the third well that Sofamco has drilled. The other two 4,500-ft. wells are #1 Bush, in Section 115, Block 9, BS&F Survey, A-168, and #1 Price in Section 85, Block 9, BS&F Survey, A-151, about five to 10 miles north in Potter County. Those two wells are two to five miles south of Cliffside Field. The #1 Menke is 11 miles south of the field.



10 Atoka Operating Inc., Dallas, will drill a 16,000-ft. exploratory test in Grayson County, Texas (RRC 9). The #1 Godwin, Section 57, Thomas Toby Survey, A-1513, will be eight miles northeast of Callisburg. The nearest producer is 0.33-mile southwest in the same section. The #2 Blair is in Sparkler Field. The 10,786-ft. well was completed in 1976 flowing oil from perforations from 10,658 to 10,718 ft. The well has produced 273,296 bbl. of crude and 350.3 million cu. ft. of gas.



11 A 7,400-ft. exploratory test will be drilled in Kent County, Texas, (RRC 8A) by Sharp Image Energy Inc., Midland. The #1 Clairemont South, Section 54, Block 4, H&GN Survey, A-1097, will be 18 miles southwest of Jayton. The nearest well is 1.33 miles north-northeast and produces from Pennsylvanian Mays in Clairemont Southwest Field, according to IHS Energy. The #1 Mays Trust B, Section 53, pumped 38.6-degree-gravity oil from perforations from 6,896 to 6,905 ft. The 7,200-ft. well produced 249,381 bbl. of crude, 27.3 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 86,818 bbl. of water.



12 Scully Energy Corp., Salado, Texas, completed a 1,977-ft. discovery in Lampasas County, Texas, (RRC 7B) west of Copperas Cove. The #1 Gotcher, James I. Allbritton Survey, A-1657, was tested on a 10/64-in. choke flowing 193,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations in the Cisco. The company will drill two more Lampasas County wells. The #1 Metty will be drilled in the same survey, while #1 Morse will be drilled in John Blakey Survey, A-1318. Both wells are scheduled to 3,950 ft.



13 Lavanco Energy Ltd., San Angelo, Texas, will drill a 4,000-ft. West Texas test in Coke County, Texas (RRC 7C). The #2 Elna Mays will be in Section 1, J. H. Allen Survey, A-1326, about five miles southeast of Robert Lee. The nearest well is less than a mile southeast. The #1 Elna Mays is an abandoned well that was drilled to 6,328 ft. in the Ellenburger in Section 22, Jose Antonio Gutierrez Survey, A-156. The closest producer is a 6,954-ft. well 0.33-mile south-southwest in the same section. The #10 Wendland was tested flowing 355 bbl. of 49-degree-gravity oil per day from acidized perforations from 6,223-40 ft. No production information is available.



14 An apparent Clear Fork discovery was completed in Crockett County, Texas, (RRC 7C) by MLC Operating LP, Humble, Texas. The #1 Onyx, Section 58, Block GG, TC RR Co Survey, A-4652, is 3.5 miles east of the Pecos County line. The 4,353-ft. well was tested flowing 273 bbl. of oil, 143,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 105 bbl. of water per day. Perforations were at 4,030-57 ft., with 5.5-in. casing. In the same section, a half-mile west-southwest, MLC drilled #2 Onyx to 5,000 ft. The nearest well is #1 Emerald Unit, Section 58, TC RR Co Survey, A-4652, drilled to 4,350 ft.



15 A Delaware Basin wildcat was completed by Bulldog Operating Co., Artesia, N.M., in Reeves County, Texas (RRC 8). The well is 15 miles north-northwest of the town of Toyah. The #1 GS State, Section 4, Block 59, PSL Survey, A-2554, flowed gas at a daily rate of 3.2 million cu. ft. on a 24/64-in. choke. Respective flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were 1,134 psi and 1,513 psi. Bulldog is drilling a second test in the area a half-mile east. The #1 Armstrong State, Section 3, Block 59, PSL Survey, A-2778, was drilled to 14,450 ft. Less than a mile south-southeast in Section 3, #1-3 Biles was drilled to 15,431 ft. in the Silurian.



16 Newfield Exploration Co., Houston, will drill an apparent Ellenburger wildcat in Edwards County, Texas (RRC 1). The well will be 15 miles west of Rocksprings. The #5802 Five C Ranch, Section 58, Block 3, GWT&P RR Co Survey, A-3105, will be drilled to 10,000 ft. The nearest producers are wells a half-mile north-northwest and north-northeast in Section 63, Block 3, GWT&P RR Co Survey, A-1204.
