1 Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Co. LP, Houston, will drill a deep wildcat in Leon County, Texas (RRC 5). The #1 Swift Burlington will be four miles west-northwest of the Houston County line and will be drilled to 20,500 ft. in the Ramon de la Garza Survey, A-8. The nearest production is 2.6 miles west-northwest in prolific Alabama Ferry Field. There, #3 Eunice B Unit was tested flowing 52 bbl. of crude and 75,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas per day through perforations in the Glen Rose from 9,208-26 ft. Located in the W. J. Woodard Survey, A-1282, the well was drilled to 9,357 ft., according to IHS Energy. Cumulative recovery totals 11,191 bbl. of crude and 9.32 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas through 1992.



2 EnCana Oil & Gas USA Inc., Calgary, completed a Bossier discovery in Robertson County, Texas (RRC 5). The #1 R. L. Dodds Jr. B, Pedro Jose Pereire Survey, A-32, is eight miles east of Franklin. The 16,790-ft. well was tested flowing 12.48 million cu. ft. of gas and 124 bbl. of water per day through fracture-stimulated perforations from 14,726 to 15,921 ft. The closest producer is #1 R. L. Dodds Jr., in the same survey and a mile north-northwest of #1 R.L. Dodds Jr. "B." This well has a daily gas flow of 1.19 million cu. ft., with 912 bbl. of water.



3 A Bossier well was drilled by Gastar Exploration Ltd., Houston, in Robertson County, Texas (RRC 5). The #1 John Parke, Pedro Pereira, Jose De Jesus & Mariano Grande Grant, A-32, was drilled to 17,522 ft. The well is some two miles southeast of the town of Ridge, Texas. It was reported that gas was encountered when drilling. Gastar is also drilling #2 Wildman Trust well to an estimated total depth of 19,200 feet. This well is targeting the same lower Bossier series of sands that are productive in Gastar's #1 Donelson well plus middle Bossier sands found in #1 Wildman Trust and #1 Donelson.



4 An apparent Pettet wildcat will be drilled to 7,000-ft. in Franklin County, Texas, (RRC 6) by SDG Operating Co. Inc., Tyler. The #1 Tinsley will be 1.75 miles east of the Hopkins County (RRC 5) boundary. The nearest Pettet recovery is 6.25 miles southeast in Mount Vernon Field in #1 Parchman-Moore Unit. That well was tested pumping 178 bbl. of crude per day through perforations from 7,003-09 ft. Located in the George Richardson Survey, A-402, the 7,063-ft. well yielded a total of 5,057 bbl. of crude.



5 Samson Lone Star LP, Tulsa, Okla., completed a Travis Peak discovery in Nacogdoches County, Texas (RRC 6). The #1 Jenny Beth Gas Unit 1, Manuel de los Santos Coy Survey, A-21, is eight miles northwest of Nacogdoches. The 10,501-ft. well flowed gas at a daily rate of 3.36 million cu. ft., with three bbl. of condensate and 346 bbl. of water. Travis Peak recovery is one mile southeast of #1 Jenny Beth Gas Unit 1 in Douglass West Field. In that field, #1 Cindy Sue Gas Unit 1 was tested flowing gas through perforations from 9,296 to 10,337 ft. The 10,465-ft. venture has produced 339.64 million cu. ft. of gas, 271 bbl. of condensate and 18,261 bbl. of water.



6 A Jackson discovery was completed by Prime Operating Co., Houston, in south-central Walker County, Texas (RRC 3). The #1 Cunningham Gas Unit 2, William Robinson Survey, A-43, is 4.5 miles southwest of Huntsville. The 2,700-ft. well was tested flowing 359,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations from 2,578-82 ft. A mile northeast is #1 Gibbs Gas Unit, William McDonald Survey, A-30, in Wolfsbane Field. The 2,950-ft. well flowed 600,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. Between June 2003 and January 2004, #1 Gibbs Gas Unit produced 104.85 million cu. ft. of gas from the Yegua from 2,561-77 ft.



7 Ballard Exploration Co. Inc., Houston, completed an 11,575-ft. Wilcox discovery in east-central Wharton County, Texas (RRC 3). The #1 Harrison, Alexander Jackson Survey, A-34, was tested flowing 3.66 million cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations from 11,270 to 11,496 ft., according to IHS Energy. The closest producer is #2 Zeidman Trustee Gas Unit, William Kincheloe Survey, A-38, which is 1.5 miles northeast in Ciervo Grande Field. The 18,000-ft. well tested at 10.79 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,224 bbl. of water. The #2 Zeidman Trustee Gas Unit has produced 2.97 billion cu. ft. of gas, 248 bbl. of condensate and 193,520 bbl. of water.



8 An Edwards discovery was completed by Pioneer Natural Resources USA Inc., Irving, Texas, in Lavaca County, Texas (RRC 2). The #1 Zak Gas Unit, Jacob Darst Survey, A-12, reached a daily gas flow rate of 2.48 million cu. ft., with 127 bbl. of water. The nearest city is Yoakum, which is five miles east of #1 Zak Gas Unit. The 15,000-ft. well was tested through perforations from 14,165 to 14,322 ft. on a 16/64-in. choke.

Pioneer also plans to drill another well a half-mile southwest. The #1 C. L. Hermes Gas Unit, Silas M. Morris Survey, A-31, is projected to 15,200 ft. No activity has been reported to date. The nearest producer is #1 Lay McCord Gas Unit 1, Alex Porter #13 Survey, A-37, in Sweet Home Field. The 14,811-ft. well was tested flowing 500,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations from 13,906-42 ft. Between 1980 and 1992, the well produced 16.16 million cu. ft. of gas, 237 bbl. of condensate and 20,931 bbl. of water.



9 Magnum Producing LP, Corpus Christi, Texas, completed a Wilcox discovery in northern Jackson County, Texas (RRC 2). The #1 Williams, in John Alley Survey, A-3, is one-half mile southeast of the Lavaca County line. The 10,850-ft. well was tested flowing 363,000 cu. ft. of gas, 41.4 bbl. of 54.3-degree-gravity condensate and two bbl. of water per day through perforations from 9,956-64 ft. Flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were 1,015 psi and 3,970 psi on a 13/64-in. choke. The nearest producer is #1 Texaco-Washington, one mile southwest in Morales North Field. The 10,750-ft. well was tested flowing 840,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations from 9,246-68 ft. That well produced 517.92 million cu. ft. of gas, 42,861 bbl. of condensate and 218,696 bbl. of water.



10 An 8,000-ft. apparent Olmos wildcat will be drilled in LaSalle County, Texas, (RRC 1) by Alamo Operation Co., San Antonio. The well will be 15 miles southeast of Cotulla in Section 226, BS&F Survey, A-1076. The nearest production is 1.5 miles west-southwest in Cooke Ranch Field. The #1 Cooke, Section 237, H&GN RR Co Survey, A-308, was tested flowing 100,000 cu. ft. of gas, seven bbl. of condensate and seven bbl. of water through perforations from 7,918-42 ft. The 10,975-ft. well has produced 4.06 million cu. ft. of gas, 124 bbl. of condensate and 2,845 bbl. of water.



11 A wildcat will be drilled by Reichmann Petroleum Corp., Grapevine, Texas, in western Starr County, Texas (RRC 4). The #1 Hastings-Lopez, Section 71, Juan Salinas Survey, A-163, will be nine miles north of Roma and will be drilled to 16,200 ft. The nearest production is #1 Jennie V. Sanchez, in Section 73, Miguel Saens Survey, A-166, 2.75 miles northeast in Margo Field. The 13,118-ft. well was tested flowing 6 million cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations in the Wilcox from 11,704-16 ft. Completed in 1960, it only produced 30.95 million cu. ft. of gas.



12 Monforte Exploration LLC, Houston, completed an offshore Louisiana discovery in the central portion of West Cameron Block 424. The #A-1 OCS-G-24745 is in 95 ft. of water. The 8,003-ft. well was tested for gas at an undisclosed rate from perforations in the Pliocene from 7,440-85 ft. The closest production is three miles east on Block 425. The "A" platform produced 867.67 million cu. ft. of gas, 65 bbl. of condensate and 123 bbl. of water from 1995 until 1998 as part of West Cameron Block 425 Field from #A-1 and #A-2 OCS-G-11796.



13 BHP Billiton Petroleum (GOM) Inc., Houston, will drill two additional wildcats on its five-tract Neptune prospect on Atwater Valley Block 574, according to IHS Energy. The #3 and #4 OCS-G-08035 will be drilled in 6,213 ft. of water. BHP drilled the #2 in 2003 to 19,142 ft. The well encountered some oil and gas and was sidetracked twice. The #1 OCS-G-08035 is 1.33 miles west-southwest. That well was drilled to 16,708 ft. and then a sidetrack was drilled to 19,032 ft. The 1995 Neptune discovery, BP Exploration's #1 OCS-G-08036 is on Block 575 more than 0.5-mile northeast.



14 A Cotton Valley discovery has been completed in the southern portion of North Louisiana's Caddo Parish by Rising Star Energy LLC, Dallas. The #1 Copeland 12, Section 12-15n-15w, was tested flowing 677,000 cu. ft. of gas, 13 bbl. of 48-degree-gravity condensate and 135 bbl. of water per day through perforations from 9,760 to 10,304 ft. The 10,450-ft. well had flowing and shut-in tubing pressures at 2,100 psi and 3,800 psi.



15 McMoRan Oil & Gas LLC, New Orleans, completed a Lower Miocene discovery in the central portion of South Louisiana's Vermilion Parish. The 16,650-ft. test is nine miles south-southwest of the Kaplan city limits. The #1 Jason G. Guidry et al. "28," Section 28-13s-1e, posted a daily gas flow rate of 25 million cu. ft., with 1,700 bbl. of 57-degree-gravity condensate through perforations from 15,538 to 15,624 ft.
