1 US Enercorp LLC is drilling a 9,500-ft. wildcat in AB&M Survey, A-1190, in the southeastern corner of McMullen County, Texas. The #1 Duwel is a few feet east-southeast of a test that was drilled and abandoned in 1968. A mile and a half west-southwest is the #1 William Yeager, which has produced more than 4.49 billion cu. ft. of gas and 54,655 bbl. of condensate during a 14-year period, according to IHS Energy Group. That well is part of Hostetter Field, which has produced more than 176.6 billion cu. ft. of gas and 1.43 million bbl. of condensate and oil since it came online in the 1950s. 2 An exploratory well in the Fifteen Mile Creek Field area, drilled by Dominion Oklahoma Texas Exploration & Production, was tested flowing 817,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. The #1 Riemenschneider, five miles west of Weesatche, Texas, in Harrison M. Sally Survey, A-257, in northern Goliad County, was production-tested through fracture-treated perforations at 13,550-60 ft. The #1 Guzy Philip, a Fifteen Mile Creek field well, was onstream from 1982 until 1990 and recovered more than 504.6 million cu. ft. of gas. 3 ECA Holdings LP completed a discovery, the #1 Jozwiak, in John A. Foster Survey, A-26, in northwestern Fort Bend County, Texas, flowing 2.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 80 bbl. of condensate per day. The #1 Verheul Gas Unit #2, in the same survey, was onstream from 1978 until 1980, recovered more than 599.1 million cu. ft. of gas at a total depth of 9,012 ft. 4 In southeastern Duval County, Texas, EOG Resources Inc. has completed a new-pool discovery in District 4's Dinn Deep Field. The #7 Buck Hamilton, in GB&G Survey, A-667, was tested through perforations in the Wilcox at 16,352-16,670 ft. flowing 2.5 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The #5 Buck Hamilton, the field's previous deepest producer, yielded 513.9 million cu. ft. of gas during a five-month period in 2001. Its total depth is 15,170 ft. Since coming online in 1989, Dinn Deep Field has recovered more than 10 billion cu. ft. of gas and 235 bbl. of condensate. 5 Dallas-based Textron Southwest LLC has set production casing at the #1 Hopkins Spindletop wildcat, 10 miles north of Sulphur Springs in northern Hopkins County, Texas. The well is in William A. Gregg Survey, A-338, District 5. About 1.5 miles southeast is Birthright Field, which has recovered more than 3.3 million bbl. of oil and condensate and 31.6 billion cu. ft. of gas from depths of 9,900 ft. since it came onstream in 1954. 6 Prime Natural Resources, Kilgore, Texas, set 4 1/2-in. casing to 11,780 ft. at a District 6 wildcat drilled 6.5 miles north of Gilmer, Texas, in Upshur County. The #1 TMTC., in TC RR Co. Survey, A-587, was drilled to a total depth of 11,785 ft. The surface location is 0.5-mile east of a 12,168-ft. well in the same survey that was abandoned in 1971. Cumulative recovery from Sand Hill Field was 185.09 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,964 bbl. of condensate from 1980 until 1985. 7 Amoco Production Co., a unit of BP, has completed a Judge Digby Field well Section 49-5s-9e in South Louisiana's Pointe Coupee Parish. The #3 J. Wurtele et al is flowing 21.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 20 bbl. of 45-degree condensate. The well was drilled to a total depth of 21,745 ft. Amoco completed the #1 and #2 J. Wurele et al. last year in Section 49. It drilled the #1 to a total depth of 22,100 ft. and recorded an initial daily potential of 26 million cu. ft. of gas. The #2 well is a 21,812-ft. test tagging a daily rate of 15 million cu. ft. of gas. Judge Digby Field has recovered 460.8 billion cu. ft. of gas and 1.16 million bbl. of condensate and oil since it began producing in 1978. 8 Carrizo Oil & Gas completed the #2 Louisiana Delta Farms et al. well in LaRose Field in Section 45-17s-21e, eastern Lafourche Parish, La. The well flowed 1,464 bbl. of 37-degree oil and 3.8 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The well was drilled to a total depth of 14,921 ft. Carrizo completed the #1 Louisiana Delta Farms et al. 0.75-mile away in the same section one year ago. This 15,300-ft. field well yielded more than 815 million cu. ft. of gas and 80,364 bbl. of condensate through June. LaRose Field has recovered more than 133.4 billion cu. ft. of gas and 20.5 million bbl. of condensate and oil since coming onstream in the late 1950s. 9 Offshore Plaquemines Parish, La., Houston-based Goodrich Petroleum Corp. has logged 44 ft. of pay in three separate zones at its Liston prospect in West Delta Block 83 Field. The #1 State Lease 2227 was drilled to a total depth of 10,876 ft. and is the second test drilled in a multi-well program since Goodrich acquired a seismic survey of Burrwood and West Delta Block 83 fields in 2001. The #1 well encountered pay in the 9,600 ft., 10,100 ft. and MF sands. Since coming online in 1987, Block 83 Field has recovered more than 119.5 billion cu. ft. of gas and 27.48 million bbl. of condensate. 10 Anadarko Petroleum Corp. recently completed three Lower Cotton Valley gas producers in North Louisiana's Vernon Field. The #1-Alt Davis Bros 28, Section 28-16n-2w, flowed 19.5 million cu. ft. of gas during testing, and the #3-Alt Patterson flowed 10.4 million cu. ft. of gas during testing. At the Davis Bros #18, gas flowed at the rate of 5.2 million cu. ft. during testing. All three were drilled to a total depth of at least 14,000 ft. Vernon Field has produced more than 118.9 billion cu. ft. of gas and 628,148 bbl. of oil and condensate since it was brought online in 1968. 11 An appraisal well has resumed drilling on Union Oil Co. of California's Trident prospect in the deepwater Western Gulf on Mexico, after a delay due to tropical storm Isidore and hurricane Lili. The #1 OCS-G-20882, in the northwestern corner of Alaminos Canyon Block 947, is scheduled to a measured depth of 19,700 ft. in 9,675 ft. of water. The well is two miles southwest of the Trident discovery on Block 903. The #1 OCS-G-20876 was drilled to 20,500 ft. and encountered more than 300 ft. of pay. Unocal's first appraisal well on Block 903, the #2 OCS-G-20876, was drilled to a total depth of 20,500 ft. in 9,727 ft. of water, the current water depth record for the Gulf of Mexico. 12 Shell Offshore Inc. encountered hydrocarbons in its Deimos prospect in 3,000 ft. of water on Mississippi Canyon Block 806 in the central Gulf of Mexico. The Deimos well, the #2 OCS-G-7962, is four miles west of Shell's Mars (Block 807 Field) tension-leg platform, onstream since 1996. It was drilled to an undisclosed total depth. Mars Field has produced more than 219.8 million bbl. of oil and 236.9 billion cu. ft. of gas from 20 wells since coming onstream in 1996. 13 Denbury Resources Inc., Dallas, has run production casing on a Paleozoic wildcat seven miles northeast of Caledonia in Section 7-15s-16w in northeastern Monroe County, Miss. The company's #1 Weyerhaeuser 7-6 was drilled to 4,100 ft., according to the Southeastern Oil Review. The drillsite is 1.5 miles southeast of Glenhaven Field. This well marks Denbury's first exploration in the Black Warrior Basin. 14 Natchez-based Aldridge Operating Co. has completed a well under Belmont Lake in Section 41-2n-4w in Wilkinson County, Miss. The #3 Rosenblatt "BL" was completed flowing 123 bbl. of oil per day, said the Southeastern Oil Review. This multiple-pay well was drilled to 8,642 ft. in a directional hole under the lake.
