Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corp. (EVREC) has been granted an exclusive right to pursue development of a wind project through the government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Crown land application and approval process.
EVREC received a wind application recommendation letter from the Ministry of industry, Energy and Technology of Newfoundland & Labrador in response to a bid submission for its P2X wind to green energy vector development, EVREC announced on Aug. 30.
EVREC proposed its project following the Crown lands call for wind energy projects. The proposal was assessed on the company’s experience, its financing plan and electricity and infrastructure requirements.
ESG assessments of the project were also a component, including community and indigenous interaction and the social and economic benefits the project would bring to the Newfoundland and Labrador and Central regions.
EVREC may also apply for additional Crown lands if required for the execution of the project, including the transmission corridor, pipeline corridor or limited access to roads to access corridors, buildings or wharves.
