1. Two Silurian wildcats have been scheduled by Klabzuba Oil & Gas Inc. in Sangamon County, Ill. The Fort Worth-based operator's #12-6-16-3 Etherton is scheduled to be drilled to a total depth of 1,775 ft. in Section 12-16n-3w. About three miles further to the east is the planned #9-6-16-2 Etherton in Section 9-16n-2w, which has a proposed total depth of 1,875 ft. According toIHS Inc., a Silurian test was drilled in 1964 about one mile southeast—the abandoned #1 Gaule was drilled to a total depth of 1,750 ft. About four miles to the south of Klabzuba's proposed ventures are numerous Silurian wells in Mechanicsburg Field. In 2010, six active wells in the field yielded a combined 4,122 bbl. of crude.

2. In Section 13-1s-1w of Washington County, Ill., Resolve Exploration Corp. has scheduled a 2,500-ft. McClosky test—the planned #2 Ohlemeyer is immediately north of an oil well completed by the operator a year ago, #1 Ohlemeyer. The #1 Ohlemeyer was tested in March 2010 flowing 58 bbl. of crude per day from Benoist at 1,950-55 ft. Through January, the venture has yielded 6,553 bbl. of crude. January output from the 1,994-ft. well totaled 322 bbl. of crude. According to IHS Inc., Irvington East Field produces from Pennsylvanian at 1,030 ft., Cypress at 1,750 ft.; and Benoist at 1,950 ft. Cumulative reservoir output is more than 1.8 million bbl. of crude. Resolve Exploration's headquarters are in Mount Vernon, Ill.

3. A 3,998-ft. exploratory test by Barger Engineering Inc. has been scheduled in Wayne County, Ill., southeast of shallower oil production in Markham City Field. The Evansville, Ind.-based company's #1 K&L Wilkerson is planned for Section 7-3s-5e and targets pays in Salem. Markham City Field produces from McClosky at less than 3,200 ft., and the reservoir output through 1992 was 1.8 million bbl. of crude. The nearest Salem oil production in this part of the state is in Markham City West Field, about three miles northwest of the company's proposed venture.

4. A southern Illinois exploratory test by Bankston Creek Land Trust plans to reach 3,999 ft. in an area surrounded by shallower production in Omaha Field. The #2-B Patton is planned for a surface location in Section 34-7s-8e in Gallatin County. It is designed to target pays in Warsaw (Ullin). The company has also submitted plans for nearby #1-B Patton, which is slated to reach a total depth of 2,250 ft. in Helderberg Lime. A third well in the county, #3-B Patton, is to be drilled to a deeper depth of 2,800 ft. and targets Aux Vases pay. Bankston is based in Norris City, Ill.

5. An exploratory test by Southern Triangle Oil Co. has been permitted in Gibson County, Ind., in the southwestern part of the state. The Mount Carmel, Ill.-based operator's #1 Gerald Williams will be drilled in Section 19-3s-12w; the proposed 2,850-ft. test is targeting pays in McClosky (St. Genevieve). Within one mile to the west is a 2,850-ft. test that was drilled and abandoned, #1 Joe Ford. Drilled by Dee Drilling Co., it targeted Fredonia Lime. About one mile southeast of the Southern Triangle Oil test is St. Genevieve oil production in Fleener West Field. Shallower oil production is within three miles northwest of Southern Triangle Oil's planned venture in Griffin Consolidated and Johnson Consolidated fields.

6. Riley, Ind., independent Hux Oil Co. has received a permit for an exploratory Devonian test in Vigo County, Ind. Plans call for #1 SDG to be drilled in Section 20-12n-8w. The proposed total depth is 1,800 ft. The Hux venture offsets to the northeast a 1,558-ft. test that was abandoned in 1987, #1 Mary & Ralph Llewllyn. Nearby recovery comes from CountryMark Energy Resources' #1 Hulman Farms, which was tested over a 21-day period flowing approximately 400 bbl. of oil daily.

7. Navitas Land & Mineral Development is drilling a Kentucky wildcat, #OL-9 James Oakley, in Section 16-L-24e of Hopkins County. The proposed 5,000-ft. test is targeting pays in Dutch Creek. Northeast of Navitas' drillsite is an Olive Branch West Field well completed in 1984, #5 James Oakley. The well was tested flowing 15 bbl. of crude per day from Cypress Sand at 2,936-82 ft. No production information is available for the 3,346-ft. well. Olive Branch West Field produces from numerous pays, including Hardinsburg, Cypress Sand, Aux Vases, Ohara and McClosky, with the reservoir's deepest production found at around 3,220 ft. Navitas Land & Mineral is based in Boca Raton, Fla.

8. A Smackover discovery was reported to IHS Inc. by Venture Oil & Gas Inc. The well is in Escambia County, Ala. Venture's #1 Neal 35-16 flowed 240 bbl. of 46-degree oil, 144,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas and nine bbl. of water through perforations at 15,106-36 ft. Drilled to 15,440 ft. in Section 35-3n-5e, the well's flowing tubing pressure was 974 psi on a 10/64-in. choke. Venture has received a permit for nearby directional test, #1 Black Stone 12-10, in Section 12-2n-5e.

9. A Monroe County, Ala., wildcat was completed by Venture Oil & Gas. The Laurel, Mississippi-based company's #1 Coffin 14-10 was tested flowing 533 bbl. of 50-degree crude, 1.91 million cu. ft. of gas and two bbl. of water per day through Smackover perforations at 13,874-84 ft. Gauged on a 13/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 3,407 psi. The venture is in Section 14-4n-6e and was drilled to a total depth of 14,166 ft. Venture has also permitted a wildcat in Section 28-5n-6e of Monroe County: #1 Belcher 28-5 is expected to be drilled to a total depth of 13,750 ft.

10. A deep-pool test by EnerVest Operating LLC is under way in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The #1 Huston Unit is in Section 23 in Clay Township. The Canton Consolidated Field venture is scheduled to reach a total depth of 8,800 ft. and target pays in the Mount Simon. Southwest of the operator's drillsite is a 5,370-ft. gas well that was drilled in 1983: #3 Enos Unit yielded 150 million cu. ft. of gas, 1,729 bbl. of condensate and 7,010 bbl. of water from Clinton Sand. Most Canton Consolidated Field production comes at depths shallower than EnerVest's proposed 8,800-ft. target. The wells in the long-producing reservoir yield oil and gas from average depths of 4,600 ft. in Clinton Sand.

11. Trans Energy Inc. has completed one Marcellus well in Marshall County, W.Va., and has three more that are nearing completion. During its first 30 days, production from the company's #2H Stout averaged 5.3 million cu. ft. of gas equivalent per day. The horizontal well was drilled to an estimated total depth of 10,500 ft. and the proposed true vertical depth was 7,500 ft. No other completion details were reported. Trans Energy's #1H Keaton recently completed a fracture treatment and it is awaiting pipeline connection. It was permitted to a true vertical depth of 7,200 ft. The #1H Groves was drilled with a horizontal leg of 5,500 ft. The well is currently being completed with a 15-stage fracture treatment. The company plans to fracture the 7,200-ft. #1H Lucey in mid-2011. Trans Energy's headquarters are in St. Mary's, W.Va.
