The completion is producing 60 bbl. of 42-gravity oil and 15,000 cu. ft. of gas per day, with no water. The #2-32 Starr Commonwealth was drilled in Section 32-2s-4w, Sheridan Township, northeastern Calhoun County, and is producing from an acidized, open-hole Trenton interval at 4,200-05 ft. It is near an abandoned Trenton producer, #3 A Marathon. West Bay has staked the location for another Trenton test, #1-29 Starr Commonwealth, in Section 29-2s-4w. It’s within a half-mile of Albion-Scipio 6S Field, near Hillsdale, Mich., a Black River oil pool opened in late 2007 by Continental Resources Inc. with the completion of its #1-36 McArthur in Section 36-6s-2w, Adams Township. The #1-36 McArthur well flowed at an initial rate of 207 bbl. of oil and 67,000 cu. ft. of gas per day, with no water, from the Van Wert zone of Black River at 3,928-38 ft.

6 Two drilling permits have also been issued to Savoy Energy for step-outs that target southern Michigan Trenton-Black River zones, about eight miles northeast of the town of Hillsdale. The Hillsdale County ventures are #1-22 Fitton in Section 22-5s-2w, with a proposed 4,400-ft. bottomhole location in the same section of Moscow Township, and half a mile south, #1-27 Stoll, which will be drilled to a planned depth of 4,350 ft.?Log tops in the area include Trenton at 3,627 ft., Black River at 3,948 ft. and Prairie du Chien at 4,252 ft.
