Consol Energy Inc. (NYSE: CNX) closed an additional $250 million of its 5.875% senior notes, the company said Aug. 12.
Initially, $1.6 billion, in aggregate principal amount, of the notes due 2022 were offered and sold April 16, Consol said.
The additional notes have terms identical to the notes originally offered, except for issue date and price and Cusip number, the company said.
Consol will use the net proceeds to buy back up to $200 million, in principal amount, of its 8.25% notes due 2020, part of a cash tender offer opened July 29. Any remaining proceeds will support general corporate purposes, the company said.
Pittsburgh-based Consol operates in the Appalachian Basin.
