According to Bloomberg, China International Trust & Investment Corp. (Citic), a Chinese state investment company, plans to acquire the Kazakhstan oil assets of privately owned Nations Energy Co. Ltd., Calgary, for US$1.9 billion. The assets produce 50,000 barrels of oil per day and have reserves of more than 340 million barrels of oil equivalent, reports Bloomberg.
