• ARC Energy Trust, Calgary, plans to acquire privately held Star Oil & Gas Ltd., Calgary, for C$710 million in cash. Star's assets are primarily in the Dawson, B.C.; Pouce Coupe, Alberta; and Hatton, Saskatchewan; gas fields. The Dawson Field in northeast British Columbia has gas in place estimated at 950 billion cu. ft. of gas, 12% proved and 15% established. Production is approximately 18 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The Pouce Coupe Field in Alberta is Star's largest single producing property with production of 24 million cu. ft. of gas per day. Star has an average 70% working interest in more than 100 sections of land. The Hatton Field in southwest Saskatchewan has gas production of approximately 22 million cu. ft. per day in 290 sections of land, net. Total production is estimated at 20,000 BOE per day. The price per BOE of proved reserves is C$9.93, according to ARC. Separately, ARC plans to sell some of Star's producing properties and undeveloped acreage in Red Earth, Alberta, and Parkland, B.C., to Storm Energy Ltd., Calgary, for C$68.2 million. Production is estimated at 1,450 bbl. of oil per day. Total proven reserves are estimated at 7.9 million BOE. ARC will operate approximately 70% of the properties. • Murphy Oil Corp., El Dorado, Ark., Canadian subsidiary Murphy Oil Co. Ltd. plans to sell its interests in various Canadian properties for US$35 million to NCE Petrofund Corp., Calgary. Daily production is around 1,500 BOE per day, net, and reserves at year-end 2002 were 4.7 million BOE. The acquisition is among NCE Petrofund's total acquisitions in three western Canadian provinces for C$66 million. Current production from all three acquisitions is approximately 2,300 BOE per day, net. Net established reserves are estimated to be 9.7 million BOE. Approximately 40% of the properties are operated. The price per BOE of reserves is C$6.78, according to NCE. • Paramount Energy Trust, Calgary, has acquired 100% working interest in the Ells gas property in northeast Alberta for approximately C$20 million. Production is approximately 8.5 million cu. ft. of gas per day. Proved reserves are estimated at 6.7 billion cu. ft. of gas and probable reserves are 800 million cu. ft. of gas. • Harvest Energy Trust wholly owned subsidiary Harvest Operations Corp., Calgary, has acquired the Killarney oil property in Alberta for C$13.2 million. Current production is 925 BOE per day. Established reserves are 2.12 million BOE. The price per BOE of established reserves is C$6.73, according to Harvest. • Resolute Energy Inc., Calgary, has acquired additional land, reserves, production and facilities in the Hanna area, Alberta, for C$7.8 million. The assets include proved reserves of 4.7 billion cu. ft. of gas and 60,000 bbl. of oil and liquids. Current production is 1.7 million cu. ft. of gas and 18 bbl. of liquids per day.
