U.K.-based TechnipFMC signed a letter of intent with Equinor Energy do Brazil Ltda., a subsidiary of Norway’s state oil company Equinor ASA, for an integrated FEED (iFEED™) study on its BM-C-33 project offshore Brazil valued at over $1 billion.
The FEED “study will finalize the technical solution for the proposed gas and condensate greenfield development in the presalt Campos Basin before Equinor makes its final investment decision (FID),” Technip announced July 5 in a press statement.
The study includes an option to proceed with a direct award to TechnipFMC for the integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation phase of the project, which would cover the entire subsea system, manifolds, jumpers, rigid risers and flowlines, umbilicals, pipeline end terminations, and subsea distribution and topside control equipment. TechnipFMC would also be responsible for life-of-field services.
BM-C-33 Field
BM-C-33 is located offshore Brazil in the Campos Basin presalt, where Equinor reported finds at Pão de Açúcar, Gávea and Seat. The project has recoverable volumes of over 1 billion boe, according to details on Equinor’s website.
Production from the project will be phased and initiated by the largest discovery, Pão de Açúcar. The project’s processing capacity is estimated at 20 million cubic meters per day while Equinor eyes gas exports reaching 16 million cubic meters with average exports of around 14 million cubic meters.
Equinor, together with its partners—Repsol, Sinopec and Petrobras—approved the development concept for BM-C-33 in March 2021. Gas and oil/condensate will both be processed at a FPSO unit located at the project and exported.
