Description
Royale Energy Inc. completed a gas well in the Sacramento Basin of Colusa County, Calif. The #1 McKinney produced 1.6 MMcf/d of gas after the company opened the initial 2 ft of a 65-ft gross interval. The 7,000-ft well is in Section 33-15n-2w. Following the flow test, Royale reported that a pressure build test resulted in a total pressure of 4,165 psi. Based on the thickness, pressure and areal extent, the company expects this well to be one of its largest discoveries. Royale plans to open an additional 30 ft to add to the well's productive capacity and expects the full 65-ft interval to be opened later in 2014. According to the San Diego-based company, electric logs indicated several potential intervals that could contain substantial reserves.
