Description
IHS Markit reported that New Orleans-based Helis Oil & Gas Co. LLC has been granted drilling permits for 22 extended-reach horizontal Niobrara/Codell exploratory tests in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. The Laramie County, Wyo., ventures will be drilled in a non-producing township from multi-well pads in Section 29-17n-62w. Eleven of the wells, #17-62-29-20-17-1NH to #5NH and #1CH to #6CH Romsa, will be drilled generally northward to bottom-hole locations in Section 17-17n-62w. The other 11 wells, #17-62-29-32-1NH to #5NH and #1CH to #6CH Romsa, will be drilled generally southward to bottom-hole locations in Section 32-17n-62w. The drillpads are about 5 miles north of Chivington Field, which produces from J Sand and Muddy zones since its opening in 1976.
