Description
An offshore Louisiana development test is underway in Grand Isle Block 26 in Bay Marchand Block 2 Field by Cantium LLC. The #1 OCS 00391 is in federal waters venture is just outside of the Louisiana state waters portion of the shallow-water Gulf of Mexico. The Covington, La.-based company acquired five fields from Chevron, including Chevron’s wells and platforms in Bay Marchand Block 2 Field. According to IHS Markit, the venture offsets a Bay Marchand Block 2 Field well drilled by Chevron but now operated by Cantium at #5 (ST) OCS 00391. The well was drilled in 2009 to 10,350 ft and produces from Upper Miocene at 10,170-10,200 ft. Well recovery has totaled 1.2 Bcf of gas and the last production from the well was reported in 2013.
