In Queensland, Australia’s Galilee Basin, Comet Ridge Ltd. has spudded appraisal well #1-Albany. The planned depth of the venture is 2,775 m and it is in ATP 744P. Nearby production is within 500 m to the southwest at #1-Carmichael, which was drilled in 1995 and flowed gas from three intervals including Lake Galilee Sandstone. The #1-Carmichael was designed to test the petroleum potential of the Late Carboniferous Lake Galilee Sandstone over a seismically defined anticlinal structure in the license area. Comet Ridge’s headquarters are in Brisbane.
