BP Plc has spud the first test on its Puma West prospect in Green Canyon Block 821, 12 miles west of the company’s Mad Dog development. The #2 OCS G3456 is in the northeastern portion of the block, and area water depth is 4,000 ft. According to the London-based company’s exploration plan, as many as four tests could be drilled on Block 821. The Puma West prospect is owned by BP (75%) and Talos Energy Inc. (25%).
