Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Aberdeen-based Faroe Petroleum announced preliminary results of the Fogelberg appraisal well, #6506/9-4 S in the Norwegian Sea (Faroe 15%). It was drilled to 4,738 m and was targeting the gas- and condensate-bearing Middle Jurassic Garn and Ile to assess the lateral and down-dip extent of the original discovery (#6506/9-2 S). The appraisal well hit 62.5 m of gross hydrocarbon-bearing Garn reservoir. Gas was also logged in Ile. Testing has confirmed gas and condensate in a sand-rich reservoir. Drillstem testing is planned, which will confirm potential recoverable volumes. Joint venture partners are Spirit Energy (51.7%), PGNiG (20%) and Dyas Norge (13.3%).
