Description
A remote Marcellus horizontal exploratory is planned in Preston County, W. Va. by Chief Oil & Gas LLC. The #2H Grimm Lumber will be drilled to a depth of 12,350 ft., 5,990 ft. true vertical. Chief's planned wildcat is the first horizontal drilling in this part of Preston County. About five miles south, Berea Oil & Gas completed #1 Sheehan in 1992 and it yielded 78.8 million cu. ft. of gas from the Huntersville Chert at 5,918-60 ft. and Oriskany Sand at 6,065-6,150 ft.
