Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Operating Inc. tested a horizontal Chester Lime well that was drilled in Section 18-25n-16w in Woods County, Okla. It initially flowed 2.7 MMcf of gas, 38 bbl of 41-degree-gravity oil and 243 bbl of water per day. The #1H Apollo 7-25-16 was tested on a 64/64-in. choke and production is from acidized and fracture-stimulated perforations between 6,433 and 10,684 ft. The wellbore was drilled 1 mile to the north to 10,761 ft (60,73 ft true vertical) at a bottom-hole location in Section 7-25n-16w. Tested on an unreported choke size, the shut-in tubing pressure was 1,243 psi and the flowing tubing pressure was 91 psi. According to Chesapeake, the Chester reservoir underlying the section averages about 75 ft in thickness, has 5.6% porosity and 23% water saturation. Recoverable original oil-in-place was calculated at 1.34 MMbbl, with the vertical wells expected to ultimately recover 7 Mbbl.
