Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
In the Rio del Rey Basin, offshore Cameroon, Sinopec has a gas discovery at exploration well #1X-Padouk. The discovery is in the Iroko Block and during testing the well logged 38.6 meters of oil and 65.1 meters of gas in six sands. Initial estimates indicate that the venture has 20 million bbl. of oil and 200 billion cu. ft. of gas from these reservoir layers. The #1X-Padouk was drilled in 42 meters of water and reached a total depth of 2,616 meters. Additional testing is planned at the prospect to determine the extent and commercial viability of the discovery.
