Description
A recent Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. horizontal completion in the Marcellus, #8H Teel, had an initial 24-hour into sales rate of 10.3 million cu. ft. of gas per day with a maximum spot rate during that period of 12 million cu. ft. The well is located west of Hop Bottom, Pa., in Section 6, Springville Quad, Springville Township, Susquehanna County. Projected depth was 9,589 ft. in Devonian. Additional details about #8H Tell are not available. Cabot, based in Houston, reported that another vertical Marcellus well, #6 Teel, is flowing to sales at an initial 24-hour rate of 4.2 million cu. ft. per day. The well was completed over a 370-ft. interval in the lower and upper Marcellus shale. The #6 Teel was projected to Onondaga at 7,500 ft. Production is from an openhole Upper Devonian interval between 7,428-84 ft. The new producer is in Sec. 3, Springville Quad, Springville Township. Cabot plans to spud 18 additional horizontal wells through the remainder of 2009 and has eight rigs at work.
