Description
In Tanzania's offshore Block 1, BG Group has sidetracked the #3-Mzia appraisal well and completed a drillstem test (DST). The sidetrack, #3ST1-Mzia-3ST1, is about six km north of discovery well #1-Mzia. The well flowed at a controlled rate of 90 MMcf/d for six days with peak flow of 101 MMcf/d, constrained by equipment limits. The rig will now move to Block 4 to drill exploration well #1-Kamba, which will also target the shallower Pweza North structure. BG is the operator of Tanzania's Block 1 and #3-Mzia and #3ST1-Mzia with 60% interest in partnership with Ophir, which holds the remaining 40%.
