Description

A horizontal Austin Chalk well has been completed in northern Karnes County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas' Sugarkane Field by BlackBrush Oil & Gas. The #102H Kolodziej-Pawelek Unit was tested flowing 1.894 Mbbl of 40.6-degree-gravity oil, 2.196 MMcf of gas and 775 bbl of water per day. Production is from acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 10,384-14,194 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 2,000 psi when tested on a 28/64-in. choke. The horizontal well is on a 476.1-acre Central Texas Coast lease in Manuel Lopez Survey, A-181. Drilled to 15,130 ft, 9,999 ft true vertical, the lateral bottomed almost a mile to the northwest.
