Description
An Amerisur Resources exploration well, #1-Sol, was completed in Colombia’s in Block CPO-5. The well was drilled to 9,986 ft and testing indicated, 26.5 ft of net oil pay in the top of LS3 Sands and 10.5 ft net oil pay in the LS1 Sands. An interval of 9 ft in the LS3 sands was perforated the well was initially tested with an electrical submersible pump producing 253 bbl of 38.9-degree-gravity oil with a water cut of 5%. The CPO-5 drilling program continues with appraisal well #2-Indico. Indico Field was discovered in 2018 with #1-Indico that found a 209 ft net oil column in the LS3 Sands and no indication of an oil-water contact. The #2-Indico will increase production and will test the extent of the oil-water contact to better define field reserves (22.7 MMbbl oil 2P gross reserves). In addition to its work at #1-Sol, Cardiff, Wales-based Amerisur recently completed the sidetrack of #22-Platanillo, which is now on production.
