Nancy Zakhour

Well Design Lead, Occidental

Nancy Zakhour is a well design lead with Occidental, an international energy company with assets in the U.S., Middle East, Africa and Latin America, managing a team of subject matter experts overlooking drilling, completion and production engineering design and optimization in the Permian Basin. 

Zakhour chairs the completion engineering sub-committee of the Department of Energy-funded, cost-shared, joint industry program Hydraulic Fracturing Test Site II (HFTS-II). 

Prior to her current role, she was a completion engineering adviser leading multidisciplinary and cross-functional projects focused on developing breakthrough solutions by leveraging geoscience, engineering, data analytics and data management.

Before joining Occidental, Zakhour was Callon Petroleum's completion engineering adviser, supervising and monitoring all completion activity and contracts as the company tripled in size. She also worked for Schlumberger’s Well Services segment in North America and international locations in both technical and field operational roles. She is also a recipient of the SPE Regional Completions Optimization and Technology Award.

Zakhour also has served as a panelist, speaker and presenter at various technical SPE conferences and leadership workshops, promoting women in energy and leadership as well as supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.

She is an ambassador for Jobs For Lebanon, a volunteer and member of SPE, baMa, HAN and LebNet. 

Zakhour earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the American University of Beirut, an MBA from Rice University and is a certified project management professional.
