Crude oil fell more than $10 a barrel after the U.S. House of Representatives rejected a $700 billion bailout of Wall Street investment firms and bankers.

U.S. crude for November delivery fell $10.52 per barrel to close at $96.37. It had fallen earlier as low as $11.85. Brent North Sea crude for November was down $9.99 to $93.55 in late trading. Earlier Brent had fallen to an intraday low of $92.64.
