David T. Bateman, chairman and co-CEO of Lubbock, Texas-based SitePro Inc., is today’s featured Forty Under 40 honoree.
Alongside partner Aaron Phillips, Bateman formed SitePro in 2012, which has turned out to be one of fastest-growing technology companies in the energy space.
Since its launch in Bateman’s partner’s garage, the company has grown from about 30 employees at the end of 2017 to more than 150 today.
“It’s been an incredible journey, and we are just getting started,” Bateman says.
At the forefront of the digital transformation of the upstream oil and gas sector, SitePro safely and efficiently connects oil and gas producers with service providers to help optimize fluid management through automation software and workflow solutions.
Since 2012, the company has automated more than 400 wellsites, controlled and monitored more than 250 miles of pipeline and digitally tracked more than a billion barrels of oil.
Gulfport Energy, whose production is focused primarily in the Utica Shale in Ohio and Scoop acreage in Oklahoma, also made a new commitment to using excess cash to pay down debt.
Paulson & Co. relented that it no longer opposes the merger of Houston-based independents Callon Petroleum and Carrizo Oil & Gas, though the hedge fund also cut its investment in Callon.
Today’s featured Forty Under 40 honoree is Kevin Crews, who has led teams that have signed or closed more than $5 billion worth of deals since joining Kirkland & Ellis as a founding partner.
