Recently an article came my way referring to the current incoming generation of new recruits as the "snowflake" generation. I love this term -- it implies that each person is so special and unique that they all deserve special commendation as leaders of society. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but already this generation has had an impact on the way I do my job, or more to the point, to the type of job that I do. I refer, of couse, to blogging. I'm pushing 50 and barely have time to read my e-mail, let alone browse around the Internet wondering who has an opinion on what. But my younger colleagues are convinced (and have convinced my management) that my readers simply can't get enough of my wisdom once a month and will come seeking it out once a week, or more! Flattering as this is, I wonder if it's true. Please do me a favor. If you actually read this, send a reply.
