Technip has been awarded two subsea contracts, worth a “substantial total value”, to supply products including the largest diameter flexible pipes made to date by the company for Total’s deepwater Egina field offshore Nigeria.
For those who know Technip, when the French contractor uses the term “substantial” for a subsea contract, it means it covers a range of between Euros 100-250 million (US $133- $332 million).
The contracts cover the qualification and supply of:
• 12 dynamic flexible jumpers from 3.5” to 12.5” for oil production, gas lift, water injection and gas export, to connect the single top tension risers to the field’s Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit
• Two 20.5” unbonded flexible pipes as oil offloading lines (OOL) connecting the FPSO to the offloading buoy
• Associated ancillary equipment.
Flexi France, Technip’s facility in Le Trait, will manufacture the flexible pipes, which are scheduled for delivery in 2015 for the jumpers, and in 2016 for the OOL.
Jean-François Niel, Technip’s vice president manufacturing, said: “These contracts cover complex dynamic applications and include the largest flexible pipes manufactured to date by Technip, confirming our leading position for the supply of high-specification and large-diameter flexible pipes.”
Technip’s wholly-owned subsidiary Duco Ltd. was also awarded a contract early in July by Total to supply umbilicals for the same project.
