Woodside Petroleum has awarded Momentum Engineering an engineering services contract for work on its North West Shelf assets.
Perth-based Momentum could not disclose the value of the year-long contract due to confidentiality reasons.
The company said the contract represented a significant development in its relationship with Woodside and demonstrated Woodside’s commitment to local content.
“This contract shows that local engineering companies can compete with low-cost overseas engineering by providing efficient fit for purpose engineering solutions,” Momentum engineering general manager Paul Dragovic said.
Momentum has provided engineering services to Woodside’s onshore and offshore facilities for a number of years, delivering brownfields engineering and supporting successful offshore maintenance campaigns.
The Australian owned company employs about 100 people.
