A deal worth more than US $300 million has been sealed by GE Oil & Gas with Petrobras to supply subsea manifold systems for Brazil’s presalt fields in water depths of up to 2,000?m (6,500 ft).
The contract award includes eight manifolds designed with retrievable injection modules to allow water-alternated gas injection for up to four wells, and system integration with subsea controls. The equipment will be manufactured in Brazil as part of the local content requirements.
Rod Christie, CEO of subsea systems for GE Oil & Gas, said the contract showed how the company has expanded its portfolio of solutions to support the development of Brazil’s presalt fields. “Our company has developed solutions that are standardized around a series of pre-approved modules to meet our customers’ specific local needs,” he said.
In 2012 GE signed a frame agreement for the delivery of subsea wellheads for presalt fields.
