The Houston Chronicle is reporting that U.K.-based BP Plc (NYSE: BP) has entered into a joint-venture agreement with privately held, San Antonio-based Lewis Energy Group LP for an interest in the Eagle Ford shale play in South Texas for an undisclosed price.
According to a source, the acquisition includes a 50% interest in 80,000 acres. Deal value is estimated to be between $150- and $200 million. No other details were available.
