Vaquero Midstream LLC said Jan. 14 it is looking to expand through the hiring of Clayton J. Hewett, who brings almost 20 years of industry experience to its management team.

Based in The Woodlands, Texas, Vaquero Midstream is a midstream company focused in the Permian’s Delaware sub-basin. The Vaquero system serves Texas oil and gas producers in Reeves, Loving, Ward and Pecos counties. The company has planned expansion into other areas of the Permian Basin, according to the Vaquero press release

As Vaquero’s new executive vice president of engineering, Hewett will be primarily based out of the company’s Dallas office.

Commenting on Hewett’s appointment, Vaquero CEO Gary Conway said: “We are excited to have Clayton join Vaquero and look forward to his contributions in helping us expand and grow in 2020 and beyond.”

Throughout his career, Hewett has been responsible for the daily operations of all midstream assets. He was particularly focused on developing operationally efficient engineering processes and policies to maximize profits while keeping safety the top priority, the Vaquero press release noted.

Prior to him joining Vaquero, Hewett served in operational and engineering roles at several midstream companies. He began his career as an operations engineer at Crosstex Energy, according to his profile on LinkedIn.
