1 A successful exploratory well completed by F.G Holl Co. LLC in Barber County, Kan., has extended Jem South/Lem Field a half-mile east, reports IHS Energy Group. The Wichita firm's #1-10 Lawrenz, Section 10-30s-13w, initially produced 75 bbl. of oil and 20 bbl. of water, with a trace of gas, per day on pump from Ordovician Viola Chert. Perforations are at 4,558-86 ft. 2 Western Kansas is to see new Pennsylvanian Morrow exploration, with at least three new-field wildcats scheduled. In Meade County, Raydon Exploration Inc., Oklahoma City, plans to drill to a depth of 6,100 ft. at its #1-13 Calhoun in Section 13-33s-29w. Several miles northwest, within 1.5 miles of the Kansas-Colorado border, OXY USA Inc., Tulsa, has staked a pair of remote wildcats in Hamilton County. They are the #1 Reed "A" in Section 22-23s-43w, and about 1.25 miles north-northeast, the #1 Bland Cattle Co. in Section 15-23s-43w. Both ventures are scheduled to bottom at 5,600 ft. in Mississippian St. Louis, with the principle objective being Morrow. 3 A flow of 288 bbl. of oil and 420,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from Ordovician Bromide has been credited to the #1-36 Dulaney, a deeper-pool discovery completed by Chaparral Energy Inc., Oklahoma City, in Garvin County, Okla. IHS Energy Group says the wildcat, in Section 36-1n-1e, was tested on a 14/64-in. choke through perforations at 8,493-8,507 ft. It's a half-mile northeast of a Butterfly South Field well that produced oil from Deese at 3,950-64 ft. and is now abandoned. 4 Oklahoma's Texas County is the site of two successful stepouts completed by EOG Resources Inc., Houston. Flow gauge was 4.2 million cu. ft. of gas, seven bbl. of condensate and 19 bbl. of water per day on a one-in. choke through perforations at 6,328-56 ft. in Lower Morrow (Keyes) at the 21#1 Cobb Ranch, Section 21-3n-13ecm. The well extends Unit Southwest Field 0.75-mile northeast. EOG's second producer, the 25#1 Camp in Section 25-2n-13ecm, flowed 3.65 million cu. ft. of gas per day from 6,358-71 ft. in Morrow Sand (Purdy "B") to extend a Morrow pool in Guymon South Field 0.75-mile west-southwest. 5 San Diego independent Royale Energy Inc. has finaled a Lower Mississippian discovery in Oklahoma's Jackson County flowing 95 bbl. of oil and 21,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 6/64-in. choke. Royale's #2 Hooper 35-2, Section 35-1s-24w, was tested through perforations at 8,547-71 ft. Located about a mile north-northeast of an unnamed field, the wildcat tapped a Mississippian carbonate mound feature that was interpreted from data obtained in a 3-D seismic survey. Royale's survey has identified up to five prospects on similar carbonate mound features. 6 Drilling is under way at the Mustang Fuel Corp. #1-6 Switzer, a 12,000-ft. wildcat in Section 6-16n-21w, Roger Mills County, Okla. Pennsylvanian Atoka is the deepest of several formations scheduled to be evaluated. In the adjoining section to the west, the Oklahoma City firm has staked another 12,000-ft. test with essentially the same objectives. The new location is the #1-1 West in 1-16n-22w. 7 IHS Energy Group reports Ricks Exploration Inc., Oklahoma City, is planning new exploration in the Texas Panhandle, having staked two new 9,000-ft. wildcats. The #102 Lamb is in Section 2, T&NO Survey, A-974, Hutchinson County. Several miles northwest, in Hansford County, Ricks is set to drill the #1 June in Section 10, Block 3, SA&MG Survey, A-1321. 8 Two new Pennsylvanian development well completions have been reported for Hemphill County, Texas. Hemphill Field is the site of one of them, the #5067 Hobart Ranch completed by Tulsa independent Helmerich & Payne Inc. flowing 3.16 million cu. ft. of gas and 316 bbl. of condensate per day from Des Moinesian Granite Wash. The company's new producer is in Section 67, Block A-2, H&GN Survey, A-119. Testing was carried out using a 21/64-in. choke after four intervals in Granite Wash "A" between 10,818-10,945 ft. and five intervals in Granite Wash "B" between 11,034-11,157 ft. were perforated. Ramp Field gained the other well, the #2051 Pyeatt that was completed by Bracken Operating LLC, Oklahoma City, flowing 215 bbl. of oil, 212,000 cu. ft. of gas and five bbl. of water per day on a 24/64-in. choke. Located in Section 51, Block A-1, H&GN Survey, A-85, the well is producing from Douglas at 8,168-86 ft. 9 Sundance Resources Inc., Dallas, has announced the successful results of two recent drilling efforts on its Doolin Trust lease in J.H. Pendleton Survey, A-478, Jack County, Texas. The #1 well encountered seven lenses in the Caddo Conglomerates and Atoka series of pay and was tested flowing 439,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations at 5,621-26 ft., 5,634-40 and 5,674-86 ft. Meanwhile, the #2 test found eight lenses in the pays and was completed flowing 521,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations at 5,660-69 ft., 5,676-87 and 5,698-5,700 ft. A 14/64-in. choke was used to test both wells. The company plans to drill two more wells in the same trend by the end of this year. 10 An exploratory well completed by Star Production Inc., Dallas, flowing 1.823 million cu. ft. of gas and four bbl. of condensate per day in Tom Green County, Texas, apparently has reestablished production in AMN Field. According to IHS Energy Group, the #1 Strum, Section 109, Block 11, SPRR Survey, A-2042, tapped Pennsylvanian Strawn Reef at 4,478-86 ft. for the flow that was gauged on a 16/64-in. choke. 11 Texas' Howard County claims a new discovery, the #1 Do Right completed by Midland Oil & Gas Inc., Midland, for a flow gauge of 161 bbl. of oil and 350,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. Perforations are at 7,649-83 ft. in Pennsylvanian Canyon Reef at the well, in Section 13, Block 26, H&TC Survey, A-743. The well was tested on an 8/64-in. choke. A little more than a mile northeast, the company is nearing 6,900 ft. on the way to a target depth of 8,200 ft. at the #1 Snidely in Section 11, Block 26. And, the company has staked a third test in the area at the #1 Boris, Section 14. 12 Also in Howard County, LCS Production Co., Abilene, confirmed its opener of Would Have Field when it completed the #213 Guitar "A" flowing 395 bbl. of oil and 110,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 16/64-in. choke. The well in Section 13, Block A, Bauer & Cockrell Survey, A-562, is producing through perforations at 5,611-24 ft. in Permian Clear Fork. It's 0.25-mile south of the field discovery, the #1 Guitar "13" that yielded 178 bbl. of oil and 98,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from Clear Fork. 13 An Atoka discovery in Lea County, N.M., gave up a flow of 162 bbl. of oil and 111,000 cu. ft. of gas per day at completion by Yates Petroleum Corp., Artesia, N.M. The #2 Big Bear "ATN," Section 29-15s-35e, was gauged on a 21/64-in. choke through perforations at 11,878-82 ft. About 0.66-mile east in the same section, Yates' #1 Big Bear "ATN" was abandoned last spring at a total depth of 13,255 ft. in Mississippian. In neighboring Eddy County to the west, Yates has set pipe on bottom at 8,050 ft. at a Mississippian Chester wildcat, the #1 Buckaroo "AYG" Federal in irregular Section 1-20s-21e. 14 Southwestern Energy Production Co., Houston, made a Morrow gas discovery at the #1 Lonesome Dove "25" in Eddy County, N.M., completing it for a flow of 350,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. IHS Energy Group notes the company perforated at 10,683-10,710 ft. at the wildcat in Section 25-16s-29e and tested on a 48/64-in. choke. Elsewhere in Eddy County, Pogo Producing Co., Houston, is drilling the #1 Dalton "12" Federal, a 10,000-ft. Morrow wildcat in Section 12-22s-22e. It's the first of several such tests scheduled by Pogo in the county. Included are the #2 Dalton "13" Federal, Section 13-22s-22e, and #1 Dalton "25" Federal, Section 25-22s-22e. 15 Dallas independent Matador Operating Co. drilled to a total depth of 7,906 ft. and set production casing at 7,783 ft. at a wildcat in Lea County. The #1 Shelley "35" State, Section 35-19s-37e, was scheduled to test Strawn. Another Lea County exploratory venture is under way- Concho Oil & Gas Corp., Midland, is drilling below 10,730 ft. and nearing projected depth of 11,200 ft. at the #1 Largo "36" State in Section 36-10s-32e. It's being drilled in a search for gas production in Morrow.
