Capstone Green Energy Corp. retained a 2-megawatt follow-on order from its distributor Horizon Power Systems for two Capstone C1000 Signature Series microturbines, to be commissioned in third-quarter 2023, Capstone announced on March 21 in a press release.
The low-emission microturbines will be used to power a remote natural gas compression facility in Wyoming’s Green River Basin and run on high-pressure natural gas.
Horizon Power is Capstone’s exclusive distributor for Canada, Oklahoma, Arizona and the Rocky Mountain states.
Horizon currently has a fleet of 15 microturbines with an average of 99% uptime at multiple remote and unstaffed facilities across its operations in Wyoming.
“Even with the catastrophic storms that have rolled through the [Green River Basin] this year, the microturbine fleet has maintained its near-perfect uptime. Capstone microturbines meet Wyoming’s stringent air quality rules and make permitting very easy,” Horizon Power President Sam Henry said.
Headquartered in California, Capstone Green Energy is a provider of customized microgrid solutions and on-site energy technology systems.
