He also managed equities for Canagex Associates and for co-operators Investment Counseling. Duke Capital Partners has named Patrick H. Hickey principal, and J. Michael Black senior engineer and vice president. Hickey was vice president, principal investments, for Enron Corp., and a reservoir and production engineer for Arco. Black was general manager for DeGolyer & MacNaugton, executive vice president for Mohajir Engineering Group, and a senior engineer for First Union Securities and First City Bank Cullen/Frost Bankers is closing its capital markets business, Frost Securities Inc., Dallas. Analysts with the firm included John Gerdes, covering E&P companies, and Lewis W. Kreps, Gary L. Russell and Paul Ferguson, covering oilfield-service companies. Stephen D. Gengaro has been appointed managing director and senior equity research analyst for Jefferies & Co. Inc. Gengaro was senior research analyst at ABN Amro/ING Barings/Furman Selz. He was also a member of the oil services research group at Salomon Brothers Inc. and PaineWebber Inc. Additionally, William E. Pritchard III has joined Jefferies & Co. as managing director, corporate finance, in the Houston office.
