America’s landmen honored the late President George H.W. Bush during the annual NAPE Charities Luncheon on Feb. 14 with a $1 million donation given in his name to the NAPE Expo Charities Fund to continue its mission of honoring veterans.
The donation will be distributed in $100,000 increments over the next 10 years in Bush’s name to veterans charities selected by the NAPE Operators Committee.
“We are touched by the generosity of these landmen and their support of the veterans organizations that will benefit from this donation,” said Jim Devlin, CPL, chairman of NAPE Operators Committee, who received the check on behalf of the NAPE Charities Fund on Feb. 14. “Their donation will impact the deserving veterans community for many years to come.”

Since 2009, NAPE has distributed over $3.25 million to help charities support U.S. veterans through the annual NAPE Charities Luncheon, at which 100% of the funds donated go directly to the charities, according to the organization’s press release.
The 2019 NAPE Charities Luncheon supported four veterans charities Freedom Service Dogs of America, Support-A-Soldier, Women Veteran Services program and The Military Service Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute with donations totaling $325,000.
NAPE was established in 1993 by the American Association of Professional Landmen and also includes the Independent Petroleum Association of America, Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists as partners. The group holds two expos annually in Houston–NAPE Summit in February and Summer NAPE in August.
