Enbridge Inc. announced that Patrick Murray, who currently serves as the senior vice president and chief accounting officer, will be promoted to executive vice president and CFO, succeeding Vern Yu, according to a May 8 press release by Enbridge.
Separately, Yu will depart Enbridge to become the president and CEO of AltaGas Ltd., according to a May 8 press release.
Murray has been at Enbridge since 1997. In the time since, he’s worn many hats — vice president, financial planning, analysis and controller; vice president, financial planning and analysis; and vice president, treasury. The promotion at Enbridge is effective July 1.
"Pat is an excellent addition to the executive leadership team and his capital markets, investors relations and overall corporate finance experience will serve the company well as we continue to advance Enbridge's strategic and growth initiatives,” said Greg Ebel, president and CEO of Enbridge.
Yu led a three-decade career at Enbridge. He served as executive vice president, corporate development, in addition to CEO and president of New Energy Technologies. In the AltaGas press release, Yu applauded the company’s “long history of operating in a manner that fosters strong long-term partnerships with First Nations rightsholders, local communities, customers, and industry partners.”
Enbridge is an energy delivery company based in Calgary, Canada. AltaGas is an energy infrastructure company also based in Calgary.
