Jon Cartwright, who left Raymond James in May to become the first director of investment research for BOSC Inc., has opened that firm's new office in Clearwater, Fla. BOSC Inc. is the investment-banking and securities-trading subsidiary of BOK Financial Corp. Paris-based Société Générale Asset Management (SGAM) and 4D Global Energy Advisors report the second closing of the SGAM/4D Global Energy Development Capital Fund. Total funds raised amount to US$81million. The fund is seeking to make five to eight investments in private, middle-market companies. It wants minority stakes in businesses with enterprise values ranging from US$50- to $500 million, and has a planned holding period of three to five years. Former Morgan Stanley executive Stephen Trauber will head the UBS global energy banking team in Houston. Ken Cruz, formerly head of energy and utility banking, will now head just the utility side. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Trauber was at Credit Suisse First Boston.
