Description

In Wise County (RRC Dist. 9), Texas, two extended-lateral Barnett Shale wells have been completed from a pad in in Newark East Field by Lime Rock Resources. According to IHS Markit, the ventures are in Joshua J. Hall Survey, A-365, on a 140-acre Fort Worth Basin lease. The #1H Rock Ranch McDougal Unit 1 produced 3.261 MMcf of gas, 250 bbl of 46.9-degree-gravity oil and 892 bbl of water per day from acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 8,550-15,815 ft. Tested on a 1-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 565 psi and the shut-in tubing pressure was 1,179 psi. The lateral bottomed about 1.5 miles to the northwest in Thomas Jenkins Survey, A-459. The parallel #2H Rock Ranch McDougal Unit 2 was completed in a sidetracked hole flowing 2.105 MMcf of gas, 165 bbl of 46.7-degree-gravity oil and 1.155 Mbbl of water daily. Acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations are at 8,700-16,464. The flowing tubing pressure was 486 psi on a 1-in. choke and the shut-in tubing pressure was 1,035 psi. Drilled to 16,661 ft (8,292 ft true vertical) the horizontal leg bottomed in Jesse Dickerson Survey, A-255. The initial lateral was junked and abandoned at 16,694 ft (8,187 ft true vertical). Lime Rock’s headquarters are in Houston.
