Description

On the Carlsbad Shelf of the Permian Basin, Mewbourne Oil Co. has completed two horizontal Bone Spring oil wells from a pad in Lea County, N.M. according to IHS Markit, #001H Dolly Varden 25-24 B2ED State Com produced 500 bbl of crude, 1.578 MMcf of gas and 1.641 Mbbl of water daily after a 39-stage fracturing. Perforations are in Second Bone Spring at 10,533-17,940 ft. It was tested on a 21/64-in. choke and the flowing casing pressure was 1,350 psi. It is in Section 25-21s-34e and was drilled to 17,960 ft (10,210 ft true vertical). It bottomed within 1.5 miles to the north in Section 24. The shallower and parallel #002H Dolly Varden 25-24 B1ED State Com initially flowed 280 bbl of oil, 299 Mcf of gas and 2.833 Mbbl of water from First Bone Spring at 9,710-17,184 ft. It was fractured in 39 stages and tested on a 48/64-in. choke with a flowing casing pressure of 300 psi. Drilled to 17,205 ft, the true vertical depth is 9,475 ft.
