Description

Penn Virginia Corp., according to IHS Inc., has completed two horizontal Eagle Ford Shale tests in Lavaca County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas. The #1H Amber Unit flowed 1.844 Mbbl of 50-degree-gravity oil, 2.24 MMcf of gas and 834 bbl of water per day. Production is from fracture-stimulated perforations at 12,313-17,302 ft. Gauged on an 18.64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 3,500 psi. well is in J.C. Baker Survey, A-540, and the lateral bottomed about a mile to the southeast at 17,429 ft, 12,166 ft true vertical. From an offsetting surface location, #2H Amber Unit flowed 1.608 Mbbl of 50-degree-gravity oil, 1.865 MMcf of gas and 946 bbl of water per day from fracture-treated perforations at 12,313-17,045 ft. Tested on a 24/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 2,600 psi. The lateral bottomed about a mile to the southeast at 17,170 ft, 12,181 ft true vertical.
