On the western flank of the Powder River Basin, Anschutz Oil Co. has completed a horizontal Shannon discovery in Johnson County, Wyo. The #4578-2-26-1 SH Kaya-Federal is in Section 2-45n-78w. It produced an average of about 125 bbl of oil per day with production from a Shannon lateral drilled northward to 19,271 ft. It bottomed in Section 26-46n-78w and the true vertical depth is 9,575 ft. The Denver-based company has not released further details from the well on the Nala (Deep) Federal Exploratory Unit.
