Description

A study by Mexico-based Pemex indicates that its Ixachi Field in onshore Mexico's Veracruz state contains 1.3 Bboe in proven, probable, and possible (3P) reserves. Based on the new study, the company reported that the field is now expected to produce about 80 Mbbl of condensate and 520 MMcf of gas per day by 2022. The field is currently producing about 2 Mbbl per day of condensate. By the end of 2020, Pemex could begin producing 5 Mbbl of condensate and 30 MMcf of gas per day. Pemex plans to invest in in field development to boost Ixachi output with 40 development wells. The company recently announced that it discovered light crude oil in the shallow water sector of the Bay of Campeche with exploration wells #1-Manik and #1-Mulach. The discoveries are currently estimated to have 180 MMbbl of condensate.
