More test results from 88 Energy Ltd.'s #1 Icewine exploratory in Section 9-4n-14e of Umiat Meridian, Alaska have been released. According to the Perth-based company, the well hit a gross pay zone of 196 ft with a net pay zone of 180 ft in HRZ Shale. The porosity is 11%, and core samples indicate a total organic carbon average of 3.55% with an estimated hydrocarbon saturation of 70% over the entire HRZ interval. The average clay volume is 40%, which is similar to Marcellus and Haynesville shales. A horizontal well, #2H Icewine, is planned.
