Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Grant Canyon Oil & Gas LLC has applied for a drilling permit for a delineation test in Three Bar Field in Nevada’s Pine Valley. If drilled, it would be the first drilling in the field area since 1997. The #25-2 Three Bar-Federal will be in Section 25-28n-51e of Eureka County and no objectives were disclosed. The well is within one-half mile to the northwest of the inactive Three Bar Field discovery, #25-A Three Bar Unit in Section 25-28n-51e. It was completed in 1989 initially swabbing 120 bbl of oil and 36 bbl of water per day. According to IHS Markit, production is from the volcanics at 4,344-84 ft. The last well to be drilled the field was #6 Three Bar Unit in Section 25-28n-51e, which was completed in 1997. It subsequently was plugged back to 3,800 ft and then plugged and abandoned. The closest current production is about 4 miles to the south-southeast in Blackburn Field: producing horizons include Indian Well, Chainman Shale and Nevada. Grant Canyon’s headquarters are in Denver.
