Calgary-based Encana Corp. has scheduled a six-well horizontal Gallup program on the Venado Canyon Unit in the New Mexico’s San Juan Basin. According to IHS Markit, the Sandoval County ventures will be drilled from three drillpads in Section 12-22n-6w. The #202H Venado Canyon Unit will be drilled southward to 13,248 ft (5,290 ft true vertical) and bottom in Section 24-22n-6w. The #203H Venado Canyon Unit will be drilled to 11,826 ft.; #204H Venado Canyon Unit will be drilled to 9,915 ft; #205H Venado Canyon Unit will be drilled to 10,317 ft; #206H Venado Canyon Unit will be drilled to 9,171 ft; #207H Venado Canyon Unit will be drilled to 13,524 ft. The ventures are on the 5,280-acre Venado Canyon Unit, which covers all or parts of sections 1, 10-15 and 22-24 of township 22n-6w, Sandoval County.
