Description

Oil Search Ltd. announced results from appraisal well #2-Kimu in Forelands region of Papua New Guinea. The appraisal was designed to test the potential resource upside in the field in PRL8. A drillstem test was performed in Alene Sandstone interval flowing 34.5 MMcf of gas per day during testing on a 1-in. choke. According to the Sydney-based company, the reservoir appears to be in pressure communication the discovery at #1-Kimu. The appraisal well was drilled to 1,943 m and was targeting the Alene reservoir. The #2-Kimu will be plugged and abandoned as planned and field and reservoir evaluation will be conducted for Kimu Field.
