Drilling Activity Summary

Description

A drilling permit for a delineation test in Three Bar Field has been granted to Denver-based Grant Canyon Oil & Gas in Nevada’s Pine Valley — it would be the first drilling in the field area since 1997. The #25-2 Three Bar-Federal will be in Section 25-28n-51e in Eureka County. It has a projected depth of 11,500 ft. No objectives were disclosed, but presumably include volcanics, Humboldt and Mississippian. It’s within one-half mile northwest of the inactive Three Bar field discovery at #25-A Three Bar Unit in Section 25-28n-51e. The 1989 completion initially swabbed 120 bbl of oil and 36 bbl of water per day from the volcanics zone at 4,344-84 ft. The well was re-entered in 1991 and recompleted it uphole in a shallower volcanics interval at 3,880-3,904 ft for an initial pump rate of 152 bbl of oil and 167 bbl of water per day and was shut in upon completion.
